Who We Are at Save Our Veterans
Our History
Founded in 2009 by Victor Wakley, Save Our Veterans is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering veterans to thrive in civilian life. Inspired by the challenges faced by his brothers and nephew in transitioning from military service to the workforce, Victor established the organization to provide critical support to veterans. Initially focused on job training and placement, Save Our Veterans has equipped countless veterans with skills in high-demand trades such as HVAC, welding, CNC machining, and Microsoft certifications, fostering successful careers and economic stability.
Through Victor’s advocacy, Save Our Veterans also played a pivotal role in shaping legislation, working with leaders like Senator Joe Donnelly to secure longer-lasting and broader education benefits for veterans. Today, our mission has expanded to address the growing needs of senior veterans. We are committed to developing housing projects in Indiana and Ohio, with aspirations to scale this initiative nationwide, ensuring our heroes have safe, supportive homes as they age.
